Gayle Hatch is a member of the USA
Strength and Conditioning Coaches Hall of Fame and the USA Weightlifting
Hall of Fame. Hatch served as Head Coach for the 2004 USA Men’s
Olympic Weightlifting Team that competed in Athens, Greece. In addition
to serving as head coach of the 2004 team, he had athletes selected
to the 1984, 1988 and 1992 US Olympic Teams. Regarded as one of the
pioneers of Olympic style strength training in the United States, Coach
Hatch has helped the careers of several notable strength coaches in
the collegiate and professional ranks. The Gayle Hatch Weightlifting
Team has won a total of forty-three men’s national championships.
Hatch played a major role in the successful effort to pass state and
federal anti-steroid legislation. On February 25th, 2005, Hatch received
the 2004 President's Award from the Professional Football Strength &
Conditioning Coaches Society.
